We are Kev and Crystal pro crabbers out of Gladstone, Queensland in the Southern Great Barrier Reef region. Every month we will bring you stories and adventures from our estuaries and waterways.
We have been fishing for over 20 years and catch mud crabs and sand crabs for local Australian markets. It is important to look after our estuaries and waterways because these are the breeding grounds for many species of sea life including mud crabs, prawns and fish.
Each month we donate fish to JRFC Feed the People which we have attended twice this year and we are so proud that we got to cook our donated fish and give it out to our under privileged community members at Feed the People. It is so awesome to see how our little bit made such a difference in other peoples lives. We are inspired to do more for JRFC community based action programs and activities.
So, join us next month on our working adventures, and if you see plastic or floating debris or any form of discarded rubbish up the creeks and estuaries make sure you pick it up. This will help ensure pollution free breeding nurseries for our marine life and remember to "Bring Back More Than You Take!!!"
